Developing the Tramway Site

Development of this site required several stages. First, Carl Reid and Guy Reid used Carl's excavator to rough clear the site and prep it for the sign frame to be installed. Around the same time Larry Reid was hired to dig drainage trenches around the upper perimeter.

On another day Carl and Guy Reid delivered 10-15 loads of fill from Carl's farm and Carl used his Skid Steer to level and form the site around the sign frame and Humber River entrance.

On Volunteer Day Carl Reid used his Skid Steer to transport the Fines (stone) from the dropoff point at the top of the hill to the various locations where volunteers could spread it.

A variety of tasks were taken on by several groups: Dave Reid delivered fines along the trail with his Side by Side. The women spread and raked the fines. Some of the men mounted the sign into the Frame and others built the forms and filled them with stone to display the olr railway artifacts.

As before, a great lunch was served when everyone most needed it. Moose and Peas soup with sandwiches and sweats revived everyone's strength for another round.

The day ended with a great job done and the Tramway Site restored to display a significant piece of our History. Thanks to all of the Volunteers for such tremendous help.
