My name is Clifford Reid. I volunteered to create the original Reidville Website in 1999 and have continued to maintain it since that time. I enjoy studying history and genealogy. I have spent years gathering information and now is the time to share with anyone that has similar interest.
I am the youngest son of Lorne Jacob and Pearl (Hounsell) Reid. My older brothers are Roland Edward and Harvey William and my younger sister is Sylvia Bessie Reid. Dad was the youngest son of William Thomas and Mary Ann (Major) Reid. Our parents were married in Reidville and mostly raised the family in Reidville, before moving to Nicholsville in 1967. By that time my older brothers were grown and left home but Sylvia and I lived for a short time in Nicholsville.
In August, 1971 I married Irene Laing, originally from Lomond but then living in Deer Lake. We have two children; Lorne Clifford Reid born in St John's NL and Tina Irene Reid born in Corner Brook NL. Lorne married Angela Byrne and they have two children; Sophia Irene Reid and Aaron Edmund Reid. Tina married Roger Matthews and they have two children, twins; Brianna Lauren Matthews and Jason Bradley Matthews. Tina and Roger divorced and Tina was remarried to Jeffrey McLeod until recently when they separated. She is now engaged to Fred Jones of Corner Brook,
Irene and I both moved to Deer Lake in 1967 when our parents move there and we were still in High School. We met in January 1968 and married in 1971.
